Fidelity Hospital in Juba in collaboration with Travecare Medical Tourism is organizing a free medical screening event for the early detection of congenital anomalies of the genitourinary system in children The event will take place on April 3rd and 4th as part of ongoing efforts to raise health awareness among the people of South Sudan and provide treatment plans for these medical conditions
A large turnout is expected particularly among men from age groups more susceptible to these conditions which often go undetected in time Additionally children will receive free medical examinations by Dr. Abdelaty elmannaee a consultant urologist and Chairman of Travecare
The initiative aims to encourage families to screen their children for congenital anomalies such as undescended testicles hydrocele hypospadias and epispadias and others which can be treated early to prevent complications that might affect the child future health if left undiagnosed and untreated
Dr Elmannaee emphasized that early detection of these congenital anomalies plays a crucial role in increasing recovery rates and reducing complications
Mr Francis Anye George Deputy Director of Fidelity Hospital expressed his delight in launching this initiative highlighting how such efforts contribute to enhancing public health awareness and encouraging families and communities to prioritize their health and their children well-being He added Through these campaigns we aim to break the fear barrier and reach as many children as possible for screening while educating families on the importance of early detection
He also reaffirmed that Fidelity Hospital is a home for everyone, carrying a humanitarian mission in treating patients and he promised to organize similar initiatives in other medical specialties in the future
Congenital anomalies of the genitourinary system are among the most common conditions affecting children yet they can be detected and treated in a timely manner Statistics indicate that early detection can increase recovery rates to over 95%
This initiative is part of a series of awareness campaigns organized by Travecare Medical Complex for Medical Tourism in collaboration with local healthcare institutions The organization has previously conducted several healthcare initiatives and events in Egypt and Sudan and Libya and Chad and and South Sudan.
