Dr. Abdelaty Elmannaee, Founder of the Faculty of Health Tourism, affirmed that the Faculty represents a specialized academic project aimed at preparing qualified professionals to work in the health tourism sector through an integrated educational system that combines health, tourism, management, economics, and environmental studies.
Elmannaee explained that the Faculty adopts a comprehensive concept of health tourism that includes medical tourism, environmental recuperation, and accessible health tourism. He noted that the sector is no longer limited to patients traveling abroad for treatment, but has evolved into an integrated industry that brings together medical, tourism, wellness, and administrative services.
He added that the Faculty offers academic, professional, and training programs in health tourism management, medical and wellness destination management, marketing, quality management, international health insurance, hospital and healthcare facility management, as well as a range of programs focused on improving services provided to patients and health tourists.
Elmannaee pointed out that the Faculty places strong emphasis on practical training and field visits to hospitals, medical centers, environmental recuperation sites, and wellness resorts. These activities enable students to connect academic knowledge with practical experience and to explore natural resources with potential therapeutic and recuperative value.
He further stated that the Faculty’s activities include organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and specialized training courses, in addition to supporting scientific research and establishing partnerships with universities, healthcare institutions, tourism organizations, and training centers at the local, regional, and international levels.
Elmannaee noted that the Faculty is also working to advance studies and research in environmental recuperation and accessible health tourism, while exploring how natural resources can be transformed into viable health tourism programs and products that support economic development and create new opportunities for investment and employment.
He stressed that the Faculty’s objective goes beyond awarding academic qualifications. Its broader mission is to prepare specialists capable of managing the health tourism sector in accordance with international standards and of integrating quality healthcare, patients’ needs, tourism services, and economic and environmental sustainability.
Elmannaee concluded by emphasizing that the Faculty aspires to become a scientific, training, and research platform that brings together experts, researchers, and practitioners, while contributing to the development of the health tourism industry and strengthening the position of the Arab region and Africa within this rapidly growing global sector.
